We are using automated microscopy, live-cell fluorescent biosensors and perturbations of predicted signaling proteins to systematically dissect signaling networks. Recent studies in my laboratory group have focused on apelin's role in promoting insulin sensitivity on the systemic, tissue-specific, and cellular level.
