  • Lean Health Care for the Hospitalist

    Platchek, T, Kim, C. Hospital Medicine Clinics. 2012; 1 (1): e148-160

Hospitals are complex organizations, providing acute care to sicker patients than in years past. Although technological advancements have allowed health care providers to deliver higher levels of care, there is no shortage of problems that need to be improved on for the patients we treat. Many hospitals use hospitalists to provide quality and timely care to hospitalized patients. As hospitalists become more integrated into organizational quality-, safety-, and efficiency-based initiatives, the lean-thinking approach may equip them with a structured approach to problem solving. doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ehmc.2011.12.001
