From Ordinary to Innovative: Enhance Your Information Literacy

What is the latest and greatest best practice? Am I in the “Know”? How do I get accurate trusted information for patient care? Is my idea a new innovation? Do I have gaps in knowledge or practice? Do you have questions such as these?

Build your science skills to grow ordinary practice and bring innovation and ongoing excellence to the bedside. If you want to seek out and apply new knowledge, From Ordinary to Innovative – Enhance Your Information Literacy is the class for you.

We will explore resources, tools, and information on the Stanford Intranet, Lane Library and research data bases. The class will describe and engage the process of Evidence Based Practice.

From formulation of PICO question that guides your search, to finding supportive literature and appraisal of relevant articles, this class will prepare you to tackle the challenges of developing and delivering top notch care in a constantly changing environment.

This class will be informative and interactive; every student will have a computer and engage with the concepts of EBP and PICO question immediately as well as begin searching the data bases and information sites with guidance from Research Council teaching team.
