Case Studies in Advanced Physiology

Using a case study approach this full-day workshop will cover some of the more complicated challenges in acute care nursing.

Cardiac emergencies, multiple organ dysfunction, bleeding and severe sepsis will be discussed to the cellular detail with advanced physiological concepts reviewed.

Assessment, diagnosis, pharmacology and treatment options will be addressed as well as evidence based guidelines where available.

This class is an excellent way to learn or review physiology and apply that knowledge to the clinical setting through case studies. There will also be critical thinking exercises which may help the learner use and retain the physiological concepts that are discussed.
