Our mission is to improve the lives of older adults by helping them to stay independent. PIC, a program of Aging Adult Services at Stanford Hospital & Clinics, provides:
- Practical support by recruiting, training and matching volunteers to homebound individuals helping older adults remain independent in their own home.
- Carefully screened and trained volunteers providing non-medical, practical assistance for the homebound.
- Transportation to medical appointments, friendly visiting, light meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping assistance, caregiver relief.
- Access to community resource information.
Care Recipient Eligibility
Homebound persons with chronic illness/disabilities, frail older adults and persons recovering from illness or injury are eligibility.
