Stanford Hospital transplant teams are comprised of surgeons, medical specialists, nurse coordinators, social workers and ancillary staff members who provide superior, specialized expertise in all related transplant services. From careful pre-transplant monitoring to post-surgical care, Stanford's strong emphasis on continuous quality improvement creates better outcomes for transplant patients. Stanford Hospital has long been at the forefront of the field, home to both the first adult heart transplant in the US and the first heart-lung transplant in the world.
