Medical Informatics Directors Work Group (MIDWG)
MIDWG represents the voice of the physicians and midlevel practitioners, and is charged with the following as it relates to the electronic health record (EHR) at Stanford Hospital & Clinics:
- Leadership and management of technology adoption for physicians and midlevel providers
- Oversight and facilitated development of all provider-based clinical content (protocols, document templates, treatment plans, etc.)
- Mapping and transformation of clinical workflows
- Development of policies and procedures related to development, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the EHR
- Provider communication
- Escalation and arbitration of provider related EHR issues
- Interface with the Office of the Chief Information Officer to inform strategic decisions related to EHR and associated technologies
- Knowledge and adoption of EHR best practices from other organizations
- Evaluation of organizational and provider performance with the use of the EHR
- Development and oversight of provider training
- Validation of EHR usability for providers
