Epic Upgrade FAQs

We have tried to compile a list of common questions that others have asked regarding the Epic Upgrade. If you have other questions, please contact EpiCenter University [EpiCenterUniversity].

Question: When will the upgrade take place?
Answer: The weekend of April 8, 2011.

Q: Will I have to use Downtime Procedures?
A: Yes.  Your SuperUsers are being trained in current Downtime Procedures. They will be able to help you managed the downtime documentation for your area. If you are a nurse, click here to see how this downtime will affect you.

Q: Will there be red and green shirt support?
A: No SuperUsers will be the primary source of support, in addition to the project team, who will be working on technical issues. 4-Epic (4-3742) phone support will be available 24/7 during the week after go-live.

Q: Will my access or login process be affected by the upgrade?
A: No.

Q: Who are the SuperUsers for my area?
A: Check with your manager.

Q: Will we all have classroom training?
A: No. Only SuperUsers will have classroom training. They will be training staff on their Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and will also help support physicians. There will also be some Resident SuperUsers available in the hospital.

Q: How can I identify a SuperUser during go-live?
A: They will be wearing a button identifying them as a SuperUser for their area.
