Access - For Attending Physicians
As a new physician, you will need access to the Epic system in order to care for patients at SHC.
Obtaining Access to Epic
- The Medical Staff Office (MSO) must start the process by credentialing you.
- The MSO will then notify the IT Department so your sID can be assigned.
- Once you have an sID and have completed training, you should receive your Epic login within 48 hours.
Common Issues
- Your account is inactive

You have not completed training. Please contact EpiCenter University [EpiCenterUniversity].

You have completed training but your account has not been activated yet. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for your access to be granted following training. Contact the Service Desk at 650-723-3333 if you have an urgent need to access Epic.

An account was never requested for you. Physicians can contact the Service Desk at 650-723-3333 to request an account over the phone.

You may also be required to contact the MSO to resolve access issues.

Please call the Service Desk at 650-723-3333 if you were given the wrong Epic security template. Your template drives what you can see and do in Epic and may need to be modified.
