Volunteer Orientation Dates 2013

Adult Volunteer Program (ages 18 and over):  Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Stanford Hospital & Clinics!   The next orientation will be scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6 pm - 8 pm.  The registration for this orientation will be available mid-May.  Please visit our website again for updates.

College Student Volunteer – SUMMER PROGRAM:  Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Stanford Hospital & Clinics!  Students must be at least 18 years old, high school graduates, and available for 12 weeks (between June – August).  Students are required to volunteer 2 shifts on a weekly basis (shifts are 3-4 hours long).  The next orientation for college students will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6 pm - 8 pm.  The registration for this orientation will be available mid-May.  Please visit our website again for updates. If all requirements are complete, students may begin volunteering in June.

Students are not allowed to shadow, observe, or conduct research.

Volunteer Roles: All future incoming volunteers will be assigned to either Navigation or Tram Driver role(s). Volunteer Navigators provide front-line customer service to all patients, families, and visitors in the hospital and clinics.  Navigators are placed at Information Desk areas in order to escort guests, provide resources, and run errands as needed.  Tram drivers (age 20 years & older with a good driving record) are responsible for driving patients and families from parking areas to the main entrance of the hospital.  We are not placing volunteers for internship, shadowing, or observing-type positions.  Our Rehab program is currently FULL through Fall 2013 and they are not taking volunteers at this time.

High School Volunteer Summer Program:  Thank you for your interest in becoming a Junior Auxiliary Volunteer at Stanford Hospital & Clinics.  At this time our Summer program is currently full.  High school students (age 16 and over) who are interested in volunteering on a year-round basis starting this Fall (September), or starting in Spring 2014 or Summer 2014, should visit our website again for future updates.  Thank you!
