Volunteer Orientation Dates 2013

Adult Volunteer Program (ages 18 and over):  Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Stanford Hospital & Clinics!  The next scheduled orientation is Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 6 pm – 8 pm.  Register here to attend the orientation.

We do not place volunteers for internship, shadowing, or observership positions.  Our Rehab program is currently FULL through December 2013 and not taking volunteers at this time. Individuals must be registered to attend an orientation; we are unable to accept walk-ins. You must receive a confirmation from us in order to attend.

Adult Volunteer Roles (6 month positions): At this time, our greatest volunteer need is for Information Desk Areas and Patient Waiting AreasInformation Desk volunteers provide information and resources to patients and families; run errands, escort patients and families, etc.  Patient Waiting Area volunteers provide resources and information to families in Waiting Areas.

High School Students / Junior Auxiliary Volunteer Program:  Thank you for your interest in becoming a Junior Auxiliary Volunteer at Stanford Hospital & Clinics!  The program is highly competitive and sought after.  High school students must be at least 16 years old (at the time of the orientation).  Volunteer opportunities are available on a year-round basis; however, we require a 6-month commitment on a weekly basis (2-3 hour shift per week).  The only shifts available are Monday – Thursday, between 2 pm – 7 pm, no weekend shift is available.  Register here to attend an orientation (students do not need to attend the group interview).

Junior Volunteer Roles: 
Students will be placed in Navigation or Gift Shop roles in the hospital and clinics.   Volunteers are placed throughout several Information Desk areas, providing escort, directions or running errands.  Gift shop volunteers will be assisting customers, stocking, etc.  The only shifts available are Monday – Thursday, between 2 pm – 7 pm, no weekend shift is available.
