Stanford University Medical Center Auxiliary, a non-profit organization, supports and complements patient care and community service at Stanford University Medical Center by assisting patients, relatives and visitors in a responsible manner with compassion, devotion and courtesy. Men and women of all ages, including juniors 16 to 18 years old, participate in the program and donate at least 3.5 hours of service each week.
Volunteer Benefits
In addition to the satisfaction of service to others, volunteers enjoy participating in the hospitals special events and seminars, attending luncheons and forming friendships. The Auxiliary gives scholarships to its Adult and Junior volunteers, as well as employees planning to study in a health-related field. We have provided more than 230 Adult Scholarships to those pursuing careers in medicine, and over 175 Juniors have received college scholarships for volunteering. Hospital Benefits
Auxiliary volunteers have donated over 3 million hours to the hospital. The Auxiliary has also provided gifts of medical equipment to the Medical Center in excess of $2.8 million dollars.
