Outpatient Neurologic Rehabilitation
The Outpatient Neurologic Rehabilitation Program at Stanford Hospital & Clinics provides occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology services. Our therapists have extensive experience and expertise in working exclusively with patients who have neurological impairments.
The therapy team works closely with referring physicians and medical providers to treat thousands of patients each year. Each individual receives a customized care plan from the therapist, developed in collaboration with the patient, to meet his or her unique needs.
Our therapists are also actively engaged in learning and applying evidence-based treatment approaches to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The therapy team offers a range of treatments and specialty equipment, such as:
- Vestibular rehabiliation
- Driving simulation training
- Robotic-assisted strengthening
- Body-weight support gait and balance training
- Functional electrical stimulation devices
- Radiological swallow studies
- Computerized speech, voice and cognitive training
