Goal
To gain an understanding of common psychiatric illnesses and their treatments
Objectives

Gain a working knowledge of psychotropic medications in the clinical setting

Communicate drug information to healthcare providers in an accurate and concise manner

Provide patient education and discharge counseling on medications
Activities
-
Meet with preceptors on a regular basis to discuss patients

Participate in G2 and H2 rounds
-
Daily patient monitoring to ensure efficacy and safety of drug therapy

Participate in weekly patient Medication Education group
-
Research and respond to drug information questions from patients and healthcare providers

Perform medication use reviews for high risk patients
