Center for Research & Evidence Based Practice

The practice of evidence-based medicine is a defining principle in the way Stanford nurses approach patient care. Put simply, evidence-based practice in nursing means making decisions about patient care on the basis of current best available evidence.

Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) is a proud co-founder of The Stanford-UCSF Evidence-based Practice Center. The center furthers the practice and translation of evidence-based medicine in the pursuit of improving health outcomes for populations and individuals. Access to local experts in all components of healthcare decision-making enhances the center's multidisciplinary scope.

As a Magnet Designated Hospital, SHC demonstrates a focus on the support, conduct, and application of research to clinical and administrative practice.
