Flight Nurse Job Description

There are currently no Flight Nurse openings at Life Flight, but we welcome applications which we can draw on when positions do open. Our RN/RN team completes an average of 700+ transports per year, approximately 70 percent ICU interfacility transports and 30 percent scene responses. 

About Life Flight

Stanford Life Flight is a single pilot IFR air ambulance program, utilizing a twin engine EC 145 helicopter and operates 24/7. Our flight nurses functions with a high level of autonomy and clinical expertise, transporting high acuity ICU populations such as the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump dependent patient, or patients with intracranial hemorage, or aortic dissection. Our expanded scope of practice includes: Rapid Sequence Induction intubation, surgical cricothyrotomy, escharotomy, arterial line insertion, femoral line insertion, needle chest decompression, pericardiocentesis and intraosseous line placement.
