Infection Control H1N1 Updates

All staff and physicians must comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedure to minimize the risk of transmission of nosocomial infections to patients and personnel.  SHC is closely following the H1N1 flu situation.  To answer questions that you or your patients may have about seasonal flu and H1N1, we’ve established the following Website in partnership with LPCH and the SoM: http://www.stanfordmedicine.org/flu/

On this Website, you can access videos and links to information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Examples of videos include handwashing tips, flu symptoms; how to care for someone who has the flu; precautions for pregnant women and children; when to see your doctor.   Information is also available in Spanish.

The following documents (Adobe Acrobat format - PDF) are policies from the SHC Infection Control Manual and the California Department of Health Services Code of Regulations (Title 17).  These policies are highly recommended for your reading to assist you in clinical practice.  The PDFs can be downloaded to a desktop computer or PDA using Adobe Reader (Adobe Acrobat format - PDF) for your use in clinical practice.  To download, right click on each file and go to "save target as" to save files to your computer's PDA transfer folder.

NOTE: If you do not have Adobe Acrobat properly installed, you will not be able to access the PDF documents. You can download a free copy at the Adobe Acrobat web site.
