The Stanford Medical Transfer Center offers a single point of contact for doctors and medical facilities wishing to access the services of Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH):
- Coordination of all aspects of transfers from referring facilities to SHC and LPCH, including coordination of transportation when applicable, as well as transfers into and out of the Stanford Emergency Department
- Immediate access to LPCH for critically-ill infants, children and high-risk mothers including utilization of LPCH specialty transport teams
- The Life Flight transport team, which can provide air or ground transportation to SHC and LPCH as well as between hospitals other than Stanford
We have recently taken our services to the next level by offering two new technologies (not yet available at LPCH):
- lifeIMAGE: Supports instant and secure sharing of diagnostic images between referring and accepting clinicians (for example, during an emergency patient transfer, lifeIMAGE enables access to critical images to inform treatment planning before the patient leaves your hospital)
- PRISM: Referring doctor portal that supports tracking of the patient’s progress at Stanford following transfer or referral
