Our helpful Patient Access Representatives  are located in the lobby. The Emergency Department at Stanford provides care regardless of your ability to pay.

Registration takes place in two parts. First, you will meet with the Patient Access Representative (Registrar) in the registration area at the rear of the waiting room for “Quick Reg” (registration), which takes only a few minutes.
You will be asked the following questions:

Photo identification will be requested at this time. If you have a Stanford Medical ID card, please present it during registration. We do not collect insurance information at this time.

After you have been seen by the doctor and have been assigned a bed, a Patient Access Representative in a blue blazer will come to your bedside to complete the registration process.
