Triage: Our waiting room has a confidential area to meet with a nurse.

Guest Services is located in the Emergency Department lobby 24/7.

Doctor work space: This is where doctors work on patient charts.

Nurses Station: This is where nurses work on patient charts.

For Patients

Welcome to the Stanford Emergency Department. We provide care for serious medical emergencies, as well as for minor injuries and illnesses for children and adults. Our Pediatric Emergency Department is located within the Stanford Emergency Department and is affiliated with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

Learn more about what to expect during your visit. If you have questions about your care or you are in pain, please ask a team member for assistance. We are dedicated to making your stay as comfortable and efficient as possible. 

Guest Services is available 24 hours a day in the Emergency Department lobby. The Guest Services representative wears a red blazer and can help you with everything from where to find food in the hospital to arranging for transportation home. Guest Services is here to help you and your family both during and after your visit.
