Unhealthy sleep and sleep deprivation are linked to heart disease, depression, obesity and lower life expectancy. Seventy million people suffer from chronic, severe sleep disorders in the United States alone. These include difficulties sleeping at night, problems with excessive daytime sleepiness, or other medical problems that may occur or be exacerbated during sleep. The Stanford Center for Sleep Sciences and Medicine is the birth place of sleep medicine, is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and has a robust and comprehensive research program. Check out our AWAKE Meetings, the first Wednesday of the month from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
