Concierge Medicine FAQs

What is Stanford Concierge Medicine?

Stanford Concierge Medicine is a fee-based health program providing dedicated concierge doctors and care teams, and a range of special amenities and conveniences for our patients.

Why should I join?

When you join our concierge medicine program, you will benefit from a customized health program founded on your close relationship with your doctor. In addition to more one-on-one time with your doctor, you will also get access to special services and benefits to help you save time and enjoy a relaxed experience.

Where are you located?

Our clinic is located on Blake Wilbur Drive in Palo Alto, with free valet parking and a private waiting lounge with wi-fi and refreshments for our patients. If you should have additional medical appointments on the Stanford Hospital & Clinics campus, we will escort you to your appointments, if requested. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How do I join the Stanford Concierge Medicine program?

If you are interested in joining, we will first set up a free phone or in-person informational interview so you can learn more about us. Please call (650) 736-5370 or e-mail us. We'll guide you through the interview process and provide you with a new patient enrollment packet.

What is the fee structure?

Concierge services are billed directly to you via a monthly or annual fee which may be paid by personal check or credit card. These fees may not be submitted to your insurance provider or Medicare for payment or reimbursement. You may be able to submit these fees to a health savings account for partial reimbursement (this varies by plan).

What medical services do the concierge fees cover?

The concierge program fees do not cover tests, medications, immunizations, office visits, or charges for hospital stays. These charges are usually covered by your health insurance. Our care coordinators will work with you to manage your billing and answer any insurance questions.

Are specialist referrals or lab tests covered by my insurance?

Our concierge physicians may refer you for lab tests, radiology, or to see a specialist when medically necessary. These services are billed separately to your insurance provider.
