The Stanford Pituitary Center is organized so that consulting physicians and patients can effectively access the neuroendocrine resources available at Stanford. Endocrinologists and neurosurgeons at the Stanford Comprehensive Cancer Center participate in a multidisciplinary clinic in the management of our patients.
Endocrinologists are experienced in the chronic administration of replacement hormones and in the use of drugs to block hormone excess syndromes (including investigational drugs for the treatment of prolactin and growth hormone disorders).
Neurosurgical involvement in the Pituitary Center ensures prompt surgical intervention when necessary.
The clinical nurse offers patient education, including teaching self-administration of medications requiring injection.

The Pituitary Center is a referral center for the evaluation treatment of pituitary tumors and other neuroendocrine disorders, including the following:
- Prolactinomas
- Cushing's syndrome
- Acromegaly
- nonfunctioning pituitary tumors
- disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary region that lead to adrenal, thyroid, ovarian, or testicular deficiency, and growth hormone deficiency.

Pituitary Patient Education Day
The Pituitary Patient Education Day is on Saturday, May 9, 2008 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Continental Breakfast and Luncheon included.
