Managing the TEP Patient: A Practical Workshop
The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University offers a two day annual course 
for voice rehabilitation of the laryngectomy patient.
This course is open to physicians, speech and language pathologists, residents and students.
Participants are instructed in:
- the indications and rationale for total laryngectomy
- surgical techniques that can allow for postoperative phonation
- options for voice rehabilitation following surgery, including the tracheoesophageal puncture and speech prosthesis
- trouble shooting
- a hands-on lab where participants are taught placement of the tracheoesophageal speech prosthesis
