Willard E. Fee, Jr., MD

Willard Edward Fee, Jr. is professor of surgery and the former chair of the Division of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford Medicine. He received his B.S. from the University of San Francisco, and his M.D. magna cum laude from the University of Colorado Medical School where he received the Gold Headed Cane Award.

Dr. Fee did his internship at the Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, California where he received the "Intern of the Year" award; his residency in general surgery at Wadsworth V.A. Hospital, Los Angeles; and his residency in head and neck surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine.

He joined the Stanford faculty in 1974 as assistant professor of surgery. In 1995, he was appointed as the Edward C. and Amy H. Sewall Professor in Otorhinolaryngology. Endowed chairs in the university are awarded to those individuals who have national and international recognition for excellence in their specialty.

Dr. Fee is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, American Society for Head and Neck Surgery and served as President of that organization. He is a Director of the American Board of Otolaryngology, and a former member of the Communicative Science Study Section, NINCDS, and Chairman of the US Collegium Otorhinolaryngologicum Society. He is a member of California Medical Association Advisory Panel on Otolaryngology and past President of the California Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Society. He serves or has served on the editorial board of many national and international medical journals.
