Geriatric Medicine is the branch of medicine that promotes the overall health of aging adults, as well as the prevention and treatment of disease and disabilities that aging adults cope with later in life. Geriatricians are trained medical doctors who manage the unique needs of aging adults, and are either board-certified in family medicine or are an internal medicine doctor with a specialty in Senior Care.
Our Senior Care Clinic works closely with Stanford Hospital's Aging Adult Services department and several other disciplines to offer coordinated care to aging adults who are transitioning from hospital back to home
or to somewhere new in their community. Our Senior Care team offers inpatient consults and advice on the many resources available to aging adults and their families. We can be paged at 26888 or contacted through EPIC.

Senior Care In-Patient Consult Service
We assist primary teams of any specialty to provide outstanding care for their elderly patients. Staff is available for consultation 7 days a week. This clinical team also partners with Aging Adult Services for comprehensive care post-discharge.
