If you are not a resident of the United States and would like more information on how to access services in the Hematology Clinic, please contact International Medical Services by calling (877) 487-0237 or send an e-mail to IMS@stanfordmed.org.The Hematology Clinic at Stanford serves adult patients who are seeking expert medical evaluation and diagnosis or confirmation of a diagnosis of a hematological disorder. The complexity of diseases diagnosed and treated by hematologists includes problems related to:
- coagulopathies
- vascular disorders
- serious life threatening illness including:
- leukemia
- multiple myeloma.
Treatments are administered in the Infusion Center, Monday through Friday, as well as after hours and on weekends to accommodate patient needs. Patients may receive standard therapies or experimental regimens through participation in a clinical trial.

Our Team

Hematologists: Board-certified, expert in establishing a diagnosis and planning and managing treatment of malignant and non-malignant disorders of the blood and lymph forming systems.

Nurse Care Coordinators: Registered nurses, who facilitate patient entry into the Stanford Hematology Clinic; provide coordination of scheduling for testing, treatment and other required services and provide telephone advise and symptom management in coordination with the clinic physicians.

Fellows: Physicians, pursuing post-graduate work in Hematology, eligable for Board Certification during their fellowship.

New Patient Coordinators: Clerical staff who schedule appointments for new patients; they ask for pertinent information such as diagnosis, past treatment and insurance data.

Research Nurse Coordinators: Registered nurses that work with specific oncologists for various clinical trials. The Research Nurse Coordinator assists the patient with informed consent and oversees all aspects of monitoring necessary throughout the course of the study.
- HMO Coordinators: A specially trained staff member, familiar with insurance plan limitations on care, requirements for pre-authorization for services, patient obligations for payment and reimbursement/billing requirements.
