The Gynecology Clinic offers care to women ages 12 and above. The Gynecology Clinic offers care of females from infancy through menopause and annual exams to complex problems including Urogynecology and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. The Gynecology Clinic is staffed by faculty physicians, resident physicians and a licensed nurse during regular business hours.
Emergent and urgent situations are triaged, and services are made available as needed. Common diagnoses that are evaluated and treated include, but are not limited to:
- Vaginal infections
- Sexually transmitted diseases
- Polyps
- Stenosis/stricture
- Threatened/missed/incomplete/chemical and habitual abortions
- Blighted ovum
- Ectopic pregnancies
- Contraception (barrier, IUD, implants, other)
- Alopecia
- Abdominal/pelvic pain
- Abdominal swelling
- Abnormal pap
- Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- Abnormal periods
- Menopausal symptoms
- Postmenopausal bleeding
- Post coital bleeding
- Sexual Dysfunction
Treatments include but are not limited to:
- Counseling
- Education
- Ultrasounds
- Biopsies
- Cultures
- Contraceptive device fitting and placement
- Colposcopy
- Cryosurgery
- Diagnostic D & C
- Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)
- Curettage
