Positive Psychology: The Pursuit of Happiness

This 5-week workshop will explore the new strength-based approach to positive psychology (aka “happiness”). We will discuss research on happiness for the purpose of developing improved personal well-being. Each class will include guided practice, discussion and personal reflection. Texts for the class are Awakening Joy: 10 Steps That Will Put You on the Road to Real Happiness by James Baraz and Shoshana Alexander and Stress Free for Good: 10 Scientifically Proven Life Skills for Health and Happi­ness by Fred Luskin and Kenneth Pelletier. (Books are not included in class fee.)

More about the instructor --  Frederic Luskin, PhD is a research associate
at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention. He holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Stanford University and is a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation. Dr. Luskin's personal web site, Learning To Forgive, has access to video, audio and book products.
