Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center Emotional Support Program

Please contact Program Director Penny Donnelly, RN, MFT (650) 723-6408 to arrange to attend any of these support group sessions, offered free to Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center patients.

An important part of the infertility services provided by Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center is our emotional support program for our patients and their partners.

Fertility treatments can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Feelings of loss of control, isolation, anxiety and sadness are but a few of the most commonly expressed emotions.

Research has indicated that by attending to one's emotional state, the stress associated with infertility can be significantly reduced, thereby enhancing personal well being. Certain physiological functions can be effected by stress, including the regulation of reproductive hormones.

The Stanford Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center's emotional support program includes free counseling to their patients and partners via individual, couples and support group (women) formats.
