The Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Stanford Hospital & Clinics offers comprehensive state-of-the-art medical treatment for patients with acute and chronic injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Our team of physicians accept regional, national and international patient referrals.
Patient referrals and transfers are facilitated by the Stanford Life Flight Medical Transportation Program. Urgent patient transport by air or ground may be facilitated by the Transfer Center.
The Orthopaedic Trauma Service provides optimal care to a wide array of acute complex injuries, including:

multiple system injuriespelvic and acetabular fracturesopen fracturesarticular and periarticular fracturestraumatic injuries of the spineinjuries of the upper extremity, including microvascular surgery, pediatric musculoskeletal injuries, periprosthetic fractures and pathologic fractures
Our physicians also specialize in the treatment of post-traumatic injuries, including malunions and nonunions of the pelvis and acetabulum, long bones and articular fractures.

The Orthopaedic Trauma Service Fellowship Program trains orthopaedic surgeons in the subspecialty of orthopaedic trauma and hip and pelvis reconstruction. The goal of the orthopaedic trauma fellowship is to develop highly trained individuals in the management of complex injuries of the muscoskeletal system.
