Neuropsychology Clinic

The Stanford Neuropsychology Clinic is the largest clinical neuropsychology program in Northern California. Our neuropsychology team has more than 20 years of experience in providing comprehensive neuropsychology assessments and treatment recommendations for the cognitive and behavioral effects of neurologic, psychiatric and other medical disorders. Short-term, long-term and lifelong care management are available for adults, both as inpatients and outpatients.

Our experienced neuropsychologists, most of whom are board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, have specialized expertise in complex conditions. These conditions include concussion, head injury, memory disorders and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease and Parkinsonís disease, stroke, Moyamoya, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and brain tumors.

Our team knows that neuropsychology assessment appointments can be anxiety inducing for patients and provides you and your family with the support you need during the process. At the Stanford Neuropsychology Clinic, all of the necessary tests for a thorough neuropsychology assessment can be completed in several hours and are available in one hospital location. Neuropsychology assessments typically include:

  • • Tests of attention, learning, memory, language, and executive skills including reasoning, problem-solving, visual-spatial and perceptual skills, as well as mood and personality
  • • An interview with the patient and a family member or friend, if possible
  • • Medical record review
