Other Medications

A long and growing list of other antiepileptic medications are under various stages of development. 

It is not likely that all of these drugs will survive in the marketplace, competing for the same group of patients with intractable partial and secondarily generalized seizures. 

Any new drug will have to have an obvious benefit in terms of efficacy, safety, tolerance, novel mechanism, ease-of-use, or cost.
