An arrhythmia is an abnormal heart rhythm, occurring when the heart beats too slow, too fast or in an uncoordinated fashion. Arrhythmias are considered serious when the heart beats too slow or too fast to effectively pump blood, and particularly when associated with a diseased heart condition.

The Stanford Cardiac Arrhythmia Service provides a wide range of state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to the management of patients with arrhythmias. We work collaboratively with the heart failure medical team, cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to offer patients comprehensive care.

Our Statement

We are dedicated to delivering outstanding and compassionate care of arrhythmia patients while working with their physicians and to advancing teaching and medical research in cardiac arrhythmias.

Pledge to Patients and Their Physicians

We value the trust that physicians and their patients place in us and we take our responsibility seriously. Our team will do our utmost to communicate with physicians and return patients to their care with information about their evaluation and treatment at Stanford.

If at any time any issues arise, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Paul Wang, the Director of the Stanford Arrhythmia Service at (650) 723-7111.
