Stanford CyberKnife
CyberKnife is a painless, incisionless alternative to surgery for the treatment of tumors in the brain, spine, lung, liver, pancreas or prostate. Since CyberKnife was invented here at Stanford in 1994, our program has treated over 4000 patients- more than any other program in the country.
Stanford is one of only a handful of facilities in the country with two CyberKnife machines. As a result, waiting times are almost non-existent. Patients can have immediate access to Stanford’s expert faculty who provide the timely and experienced care critical to the successful treatment of tumors.
Benefits to you
Painless, incisionless. CyberKnife treatment is painless and incisionless, effectively eliminating the risk of complications. It does not require rigid, uncomfortable frames to keep patients in place. Patients are able to breathe normally and relax comfortably during treatment.
No overnight stay in hospital. CyberKnife treatment is performed in just a few hours, so patients can go home (or even go back to work) the same day. Also, the course of treatment is only 5 treatments or less. Appointments can be scheduled at the patient’s convenience so there is minimal loss of time away from family or job.
