Cardiovascular Research
Formed in March 2004, the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute (SCVI) is a unique center for cardiovascular disease research and treatment.
At the nucleus of SCVI is a richly diverse group of 178 University faculty scientists, scholars, engineers and adult and pediatric clinicians whose multidisciplinary collaborations will focus on the prevention, treatment, and ultimate elimination of cardiovascular diseases.
SCVI is one of four institutes established by Stanford School of Medicine to be the pillars of its future interdisciplinary efforts in understanding, preventing and treating human disease.
The Stanford Cardiovascular Institute will:
- develop and pioneer integrative strategies to prevent, treat and ultimately cure heart disease
- advance the frontiers of cardiovascular medicine
- translate the extraordinary progress of science and technology into new applications
- promote heart health
