Stanford Cardiac Arrhythmia Service

Ventricular Tachycardia Surgery

This procedure is normally done in conjunction with surgical ventricular restoration. Within the ventricle, the physician performs what is called an endocardiectomy to remove the tissue that is causing the arrhythmia.

Cryoablation is done to the remaining endocardial tissue to ensure that the pathways that had been causing the arrhythmia are cut off and won’t continue to produce the abnormal electrical impulses.
